New York socialite Claus von Bulow, who was twice convicted and twice acquitted of trying to murder this then wife, is no more. He pa s sed away on Saturday, 25th May. He was 92 years old.

On Thursday, Claus’ son-in-law, Riccardo Pavoncelli, confirmed his death news but did not give a reason for his death. He died at his London home on Saturday.

Claus is survived by his daughter with his former wife Martha von Bulow and his three grandchildren. He was a regular at theater openings, and fashionable names invited him to parties to create atmosphere even into his old age.

Claus was found guilty of attempting murder in the 1982 trial and again in 1985 trial which was even televised. He was accused of using insulin injections trying to kill her to get his hands on her father George Crawford’s fortune.

The first time, Mrs. Bulow was found unresponsive in one of the 8.5 bathrooms at their home in Rhode Island, seated atop the toilet with a syringe discarded nearby.

She was in a coma shortly, but after second insulin, she never recovered from brain trauma. She was in a coma for around twenty-eight years before she died in 2008.

In the sensational trial, her husband was accused of trying to murder her.

When Mrs. Bulow died, her children from a previous marriage hired private investigators to found out if Bulow was behind it.

Bulow was charged in 1982 but later released on $1 million bail. He was found guilty in 1982 and was sentenced to three decades in jail.
