Channing Tatum is a renowned name in Hollywood. The hot American actor, film producer, dancer and former model, Channing Matthew Tatum is well known for his roles in the films, Step Up, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, 21 Jump Street and many more.

Tatum is not only a talented actor but is also adored by fans for his husky voice and masculine body. Tatum was voted by the People Magazine as the Sexiest Man Alive in 2012.

Early Life And Education Of Channing Tatum

Born on April 26, 1980, in Cullman, Alabama, Channing Matthew Tatum is the son of Kay (an airline worker) and Glenn Tatum (worked in construction). Channing has a sister named Paige. Channing is of American nationality and his ethnicity is white.

When Channing was 6 years old, his family moved to Mississippi and thus he grew up in the bayous near the Mississippi River. With an athletic body, Tatum was highly interested in playing football, soccer, track, martial arts and baseball.

Tatum’s grandparents raised him during the summers. Tatum attended Gaither High School but later when given the option to choose between a private high school and military school, Channing chose to attend a military school and thus went to Tampa Catholic High School.

Tatum graduated in 1998 and while in Tampa Catholic, he was voted the most Athletic. Later Channing attended Glenville State College located in Glenville, West Virginia, on a football scholarship.

Later Channing decided to drop out and returned home. Tatu did a number of jobs before getting into modeling. Tatum worked as a construction worker, mortgage broker, a salesman at the cologne counter of Dillard’s, and also a puppy/kitty nursery. Tatum left his job as a roofer and began the job of a stripper as well. Tatum used the name, Chan Crawford.

Later in Miami, Channing was discovered by a model talent scout. Tatum modeled for Abercrombie & Fitch, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Aeropostale. Channing’s first fashion show was in South Beach, Miami at Level Nightclub in 2000 for Men’s Health Magazine.

Tatum was asked by his friend Vincent De Paul to do the show with him. Later Tatum started booking editorials for Ocean Drive magazines. Tatum’s first break was in 2000 as a dancer in the music video of “She Bangs” by Ricky Martin.

Tatum was paid $400 for the 7-day shoot. Tatum then moved on to star in TV commercials for both Mountain Dew (“Drive”) and Pepsi (“Scratching”) in 2002. Tatum was picked as one of Tear Sheet magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful Faces” in October 2001 issue. Later Channing signed with Beatrice Model agency based in Milan, Italy and also Ford Models based in New York City.

But all of his modeling careers could not satisfy Tatum; he did not find modeling challenging enough thus he decided to jump on to acting thus he signed with a talent agency, Innovative Artists in order to improve his acting career.

In 2004, Channing appeared in an episode of CSI: Miami. Later in 2005, Channing starred as character Jason Lyle in American biographical sports drama film, Coach Carter. In the same year, Tatum starred in 3 other movies namely, Havoc, Supercross, War of the Worlds.

Then in 2006, Channing Tatum starred as character Duke Orsino in the American romantic comedy movie, She’s The Man, for which he was much noted. In the same year, Channing starred in Box Office hit American romantic dance film, Step Up, as character Tyler Gage. This movie proved to be his big break in cinema.

Then in the same year, Tatum starred in American drama film, A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, for which he received the Sundance Film Festival Special Jury Prize and was also nominated in the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actor. Then in 2008, Tatum starred in the Step Up sequel; Step Up 2: The Streets. For his performance, Tatum earned a Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Drama.

In the very year, Tatum received another Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie actor: Drama for Stop- Loss. Then in 2009, Tatum starred as character Conard Hauser in G.I. Joe: The Rise of The Cobra for which he was awarded Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actor: Action Adventure.

Later Tatum Starred in movies like Dear John, The Vow, 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike till 2012, for which he earned nominations for MTV Movie Awards Teen Choice Awards and People’s Choice Awards.

In 2012, Tatum received a Teen Choice Award, Choice Movie Actor: Comedy for his exceptional performance in 21 Jump Street.

In 2013, Tatum starred in the American political- action thriller film, White House Down. In 2014 he was seen in many movies including 22 Jump Street (as character Greg Jenko). Tatum will be seen in 2015 epic space opera movie, Jupiter Ascending, and 2016 X- Men film; X Men: Apocalypse.  

Channing Tatum has a masculine look with an innocent touch to it for which he is often mistaken as bisexual but his sexuality is perfectly straight. Tatum stands tall at the height of 6 feet 2 inches and his weight is 82.1 Kgs.
