Missing Florida Woman Found Dead In A Warehouse Freezer Six Years After She Was Reported Missing

Body of a Florida woman who was reported missing nearly six years before was found last month in a freezer of a scrap metal business, its owner said on Friday.

Fox News reported a woman working at the warehouse, Lilian Argueta screamed in shock as she opened the freezer. She told the Sun-Sentinel she initially thought the body was a "witch or a mannequin."

The Broward County Medical Examiner's Office later identified the body as 29-year-old Heather Lacey who had been missing since November 2013 as per the newspaper.

The fridge reportedly belonged to Jonathan Escarzaga, who was found dead inside his apartment in February. The freezer was moved to a scrap warehouse in Margate from his apartment following his death.

The warehouse owner told the freezer wasn't locked and they opened it about a month after Escarzaga's death where they found the missing woman.

It is still unknown if Escarzaga and Lacey had any relation or if Escarzaga had any connection to Lacey's death. Lacey's body was taken to the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office.
