'Beetle Bailey' Comic Strip Creator, Mort Walker Is No More!! Died At 94

Comic strip writer Mort Walker has died at 94 at his home in Stamford, Connecticut on Saturday, his family confirmed.

Walker's eldest son, Greg confirmed his father's death to the media outlets on Saturday where he revealed his father's advanced age was the cause of death.

Walker was a part of more than half-dozen comic strips including ''Hi and Lois,'' "Sam & Silo," and "Boner's Ark,'' however, his greatest hit came in 1954 when he released Beetle.

Walker is survived by his second wife, Catherine, sons Brian, Greg, Neal, and Roger Walker, daughters Polly Blackstock and Margie Walker Hauer, stepdaughters Whitney Prentice and Priscilla Prentice Campbell and many grandchildren. 

Mort Walker was born Addison Morton Walker on September 3, 1923, in Kansas and he had started publishing cartoons when he was only 11. Walker had also served in Europe during the World War II as part of the U.S. Army.
