by Arya Pokhrel,

The philanthropist and widow of the infamous singer Frank Sinatra, Barbara Sinatra, has died at the age of 90.

The director of the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center, John Thoresen, told CNN that Sinatra had a natural death. She was surrounded by family and friends at her home in Rancho Mirage, California.

The former model and Las Vegas showgirl became one of the most famous women in the world when she married Sinatra in 1976, spending 22 years with the singer before he pa s sed away in 1998 at the age of 82 from a heart attack.

Theirs was the longest lasting out of three marriages of the singer.

In 1986, Barbara and her husband founded the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center, that’s located on the Eisenhower Medical Center campus in Rancho Mirage, which provides services for abused, neglected and at-risk children.

Sinatra remained actively involved in the facility and the center is almost entirely funded by the money raised at the annual Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament.

We wish that her beautiful soul rests in peace.
