Attack on NATO Convoy in Afghanistan, Casualties Reported

Nato-led Resolute Support Mission issued a statement about the convoy attack in Afghanistan on Wednesday:

 

''Resolute Support can confirm a NATO convoy was attacked this afternoon in Kandahar. The attack did cause casualties.''

The statement also read:

"We are working to gather additional information as quickly as possible and will release more details as appropriate."

The latest attack on the Kandahar province bordering Pakistan comes one day after the Herat attack in which a suicide bomber killed 29 people at a Shia mosque. 

Just last week there was a Taliban attack on an army camp in the Kandahar's Khakrez district. Thirteen soldiers were wounded and 26 Afghan soldiers dead in the attack, according to Afghan Ministry of Defense. 

In an explosion in January, earlier this year, at Government's provincial compound, at least 11 people were killed. Among the casualties were Kandahar's deputy governor and Five Emirati humanitarian workers. Fourteen were injured, Emirati Amba s sador to Afghanistan was one among the injured ones.
