Arthur Fennell is an American journalist. He was married to a famous reporter, Toni Yates which helped him earn more popularity.

Early Life and Education

The proficient journalist was born and raised in Bennettsville, South Carolina. He holds an American nationality and belongs to the Afro-American ethnicity. He has twelve siblings as his family members.

Fennell attended South Carolina State University and completed his graduation with a communications degree.

Career

The talented journalist began his broadcasting career as a radio announcer in South Carolina and went on to work in on-air positions at The South Carolina Educational Television Network. He then moved to WCAU NBC-10 in Pennsylvania and served there in various roles including anchor, reporter, producer, and host.

Subsequently, he was named principal anchor and managing editor for the CN8 News at Comcast Network. He hosted the nightly 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. newscasts at Comcast Network. He has also served for TV-One on special a s signments and led the live national coverage of the Michael Jackson Memorial from Los Angeles.

Fennell worked as a president of the National Association of Black Journalists and served on the boards of UNITY: Journalists of the NABJ and Color. In 2001, he founded The Arthur Funnell Foundation which works towards the treatment of several diseases, prevention and education, and underserved populations.

Funnell was rewarded with more than seventy-five awards including Vanguard Award.  For his work in the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists, he received the title Journalist of The Year.

Personal Life

The award-winning Journalist was married to Toni Yates, the famous reporter Toni Yates. The couple is blessed with a daughter and two sons. Sarah Austyn Fennell is their elder daughter and Alexis and Gabriel are their sons.

Toni, his former wife raised the children as a single mother and used to reside in New Jersey. Although Toni and Arthur were involved in the same profession they couldn’t manage things well for the long term so they were separated. After having the divorce from his wife Toni, he has not thought of any other affairs.
