Anderson Cooper and Rachel Maddow Lead The Advocate's List of 50 Most Influential LGBTs in Media

The Advocate has outed its second ever list of 50 Most Influential LGBTs in Media, the first list came out in 2014. MSNBC's Rachel Maddow tops the 2017 list just as she did in 2014. Other TV news personalities that made it to the top 10 in The Advocate's list include CNN's Anderson Cooper at No.2 while Good Morning America's Robin Roberts sits at No.6, Fox News Chief Shepard Smith came at No. 7 and CNN's Don Lemon at No. 9. 

Talking about how they created the list, The Advocate official said:

First, we asked a lot of LGBT journalists who they’d pick. As we’ve done in the past, we left the meaning of “influential” open to interpretation. The responses seem to show that journalists value social media influence, same as everyone else does.

 

The Advocate's 2017 list of most influential LGBTs in media is filled with esteemed TV newsers behind and in front of the camera. 
 Rachel Maddow who was also on the top of The Advocate's 2014 list of the same category runs The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC which climbed to No.1 across all measurements in July.
