An 8-Year-Old South Carolina Boy Killed In A Home Invasion

An eight-year-old South Carolina boy, who happens to be a baseball fan, was killed at his home during a home invasion on Tuesday, 14th May. 

The Lexington County Sheriff's Office released a statement saying the incident occurred on early Tuesday morning after a masked man invaded into the family's home. The owner, who is believed to be Mason's father exchanged gunfire with the culprit during which the boy, Mason Hanahan, was shot.

Paramedics rushed Hanahan to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police have been investigating the identity of the masked man, who fled away from the scene in his vehicle after the gunfight. Mason Hanahan's father suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The devastated Mason's mother, Tyler Hanahan, opened up her son was a baseball fan and was excited as he had made his baseball all-star team on Saturday night.
