Amy Davis Irving  is an American actress born on born September 10, 1953. The actress has been nominated for  Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Yentl and also received a Golden Globe Nomination for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for Crossing Delancey.

Amy Irving also has some important theatrical appearance which shows her acting abilities. Her first Broadway debut was in 1980's famous  Amadeus which receive an Obie Award for the 1988 Off-Broadway production of The Road to Mecca.

Some of Amy Irving's honorable mentions in movies include Micki & Maude, Carrie, Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna and The Fury.

Early life

Amy Davis Irving  comes from the long history of actor's family. She was born and raised in Palo Alto, California her father Jules Irving was a stage director and  her mother was Priscilla Pointer an American actress. So, it was easy for her to adapt to stage acting and movies because she had seen it throughout her life.

Amy Irving  also has a writer/director brother named David Irving and a singer and teacher sister named Katie Irving. Irving is not only a star actor but she is a well-educated person as well, She graduated from the Professional Children's School, in Manhattan, New York and she still lives in The New York City.

Amy Irving  was active in tutorials from her early age and was linked with the American Conservatory Theater, San Francisco from late sixties to early seventies and later she joined the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art for her theater trained, she had made her way up to the Broadway at the tender age of 17. Her first on-stage appearance was for the  Chocolate on Her Chin.

Career

Within six months of returning to Los Angeles from London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in the mid-1970s, Amy Irving quickly got some remarkable theatrical as well as TV shows. The actress, from White ethnicity and American nationality, was very busy with all of the roles she was offered right after her return from London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Those days she was working on various TV projects such as Police Woman, Happy Days, and Once an Eagle.  She also portrayed Juliet in Romeo and Juliet at Free Shakespeare Theatre LA in 1975.

Amy Irving  did various movies like The Fury, The Rage: Carrie 2 and in 1980 she was casted alongside the famous actor Richard Dreyfuss for the movie called The Competition. Till today she is remembered for her role in 1983's hit movie called Yentl which got her nominated for The Academy Award for the Actress in Best Supporting role. Other than movies she appeared in some of the big budget TV productions of her age as well. One of the best shows which were critically acclaimed and appreciated that Amy did was Anastasia: The Mystery of AnnaTraffic.

Personal life

Amy Irving  was in a marital relationship with the famous Hollywood movie director Steven Spielberg from 1976 to 1980. And after separating from her former husband and director Steven, she was in the relationship with Willie Nelson for a very short period of time. The divorce with Spielberg made her the owner of $100 million settlement money which has helped her net worth to be more than 75 million dollars till today's date. She then married Brazilian film director Bruno Barreto 1996 but the couple got the divorce later in 2005.

Children

Amy Davis Irving  has two sons, from her two different relationships. Her first son is Max Samuel who was born after she was married to Spielberg  on June 13, 1985), and her second son is  Gabriel Davis born to Amy and her Brazilian director husband Barreto who was born in 1990. The famous actress is now married to Kenneth Bowser who is a doc u mentary filmmaker.
