Amal Clooney

Early Life and Education

Amal Clooney was born on 3rd February 1978 in Beirut, Lebanon. She was born to Ramzi Alam Uddin and Baria Mikna s s. Her parents moved to Buckinghamshire during the 1980s Lebanese Civil War when she was only 2.

Amal was raised in Buckinghamshire. Amal has three siblings, a sister named Tala and two, half-brothers named Ziad and Samer.

Amal attended a girl’s grammar school named Dr. Challoner’s High School. After that, she went to St. Hugh’s College, Oxford. Amal Clooney completed graduation from the college with BA in the year 2000.

The following year, Amal went to the New York University School of Law to study LLM. During her life at NYU for a semester at the United States Court of Appeals, she worked as a student law clerk.

Career

In both United States as well as in the United Kingdom, Amal Clooney is qualified to practice as a lawyer. In 2002 in New York and in 2010 in England and Wales she was admitted to the Bar.

As a part of the Criminal Defense and Investigations Group for three years in New York City, Amal worked at the Sullivan and Cromwell. There her clients were Arthur Andersen and Enron.

In the Columbia Law School’s Human Right Institute, Amal Clooney visited as a faculty member and a senior fellow in the Spring 2015 and 2016. In Cleveland’s course on human rights, she was a co-professor with Sarah H. Cleveland. At the Law School of the School of Oriental and African studies, she also lectured students on the international criminal law.

Amal Clooney got appointed by the Office of the UK Attorney General to the Public International Law Period of Counsel on 25th February 2014 to 2019.

Awards and honors

When Amal Clooney was at the St Hugh’s College, she received an Exhibition as well as the Shrigley Award. For the excellence in entertainment law, she also received the Jack J. Katz Memorial Award. In 2014 she was chosen as Barbara Walter’s Most Fascinating Person.   

Personal life

 Amal Clooney got engaged to an actor named George Clooney on April 28, 2014. Her fiancé criticized a British newspaper Daily Mail after the newspaper claimed that his mother opposed his marriage on the basis of religious differences. He also called the paper ‘the worst kind of tabloid’.

In London, at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the couple got their marriage licenses. The couple got married on September 27 the same year at the Aman Canal Grande Luxury resort in Venice, Italy.

 The wedding ceremony was held in the presence of their star-studded group of family and friends. Amal Clooney appeared in Oscar de la Renta wedding gown in the ceremony. The couple is very happy at present

There was also the news about the pregnancy of Amal on February 9, 2017, and the couple revealed that they were expecting twins. The news about the pregnancy was revealed by their close friend, Matt Damon.
