by Joey Jordan,

Alabama man, Christopher Lee Price, who was convicted of killing a country pastor during 1991 robbery was executed by lethal injection in Alabama on Thursday. Christopher became the second man to be executed in Alabama in two weeks.

The execution comes days after he avoided another execution date midst disagreements between the U.S. Supreme Court justices. Price was put to death at Holman prison, and he was pronounced dead at 7:31 p.m.

He was convicted of murdering a north Alabama pastor, Bill Lynn by slaying with a sword and knife just days before Christmas. Before the execution, Price released a statement of apology through his attorney. He said, "a man is much more than his worst mistake" while he was strapped to a gurney after the lethal injection.

Governor Kay Ivey said Price should have been punished in a statement after the execution. The statement read:

Finally, the loved ones of Pastor Lynn can feel at ease knowing that justice has been administered. I pray that after all these years later, his family can feel a sense of peace and comfort.

Afterward, Lynn's family thanked friends and relatives for their support throughout the journey. Lynn, 57, was killed on December 22, 1991, when he was at home with his wife and grandchildren when the electricity failed.

The court doc u ments said as Lynn went out of his home to check on the problem, he was fatally stabbed. When his wife came out to see what actually happened, she saw a man dressed in black holding a sword over her husband. Further, the culprit beat her and robbed her wedding ring and money before fleeing the house.
