Climbing to the top of an active volcano would be exciting!

The romantic boyfriend Jarod decided to take things one step further and planned to propose his girlfriend, Alison, once they had reached the volcano’s rim.

The couple, who are from Canada, were climbing their first volcano, Mount Bromo in Indonesia, where the boyfriend popped out the question.

The pair trek from the ground level up the side of volcano until they reached the very top and began walking along its narrow ridge.

The drone footage showed the moment when Jarod dropped down on one knee and held an open box with an engagement ring inside it. Alison was shocked and put her hands up to her mouth.

Remembering the moment, Jarod said:

While walking atop the crater rim, hearing the deep rumble down below and stunning 360 landscape views, I got down on one knee and asked the love of my life to marry me. 

Jarod also thanked their friends Jenny and Stu who captured the moment and helped him to make all happen.

Jarod and Alison, who first met on a Teacher Education Program in Ottowa, have been inseparable since then. The duo runs a travel blog together Our Moving Root, that focuses on the people meaning to be in constant motion and planting new roots.
