Actress Heather Menzies Dies at 68, "She was an actress, a ballerina and loved living her life to the fullest."
Actress Heather Menzies, mostly known for playing one of the singing Louisa von Trapp children in 1965 cla s sic The Sound of Music died on Sunday night 24th December in her home in Ontario after struggling with brain cancer.
Besides an accomplished actress, she was also the founder of the Robert Urich Foundation, the organization that worked for cancer research and fundraising for the cancer patients.
Sound of Music Star Heather Menzies Died At 68
Heather Menzies died of terminal brain cancer at 68 in her home in Ontario.
Her son, Ryan Urich confirmed the news on Christmas Eve. He told Variety that his mother died surrounded by friends and family members.
He said,
"She was an actress, a ballerina and loved living her life to the fullest."
"She was not in any pain but, nearly four weeks after her diagnosis of terminal brain cancer, she had enough and took her last breath on this earth at 7:22 pm."
Menzies's first screen credit is the TV series The Farmer's Daughter in 1964. She was a teenager when she stepped on the acting field.
She has always entertained her fans with her best performances in movies such as Outside In and TV shows like Spencer: For Hire.
Ted Chapin, president and chief creative officer of the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization, remembered the actress and her efforts in her movies.
She was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme in November, and her health declined rapidly.

Heather Menzies's Past Life With Husband And Children
Menzies married Joh Cluett in 1969. Though they seemed to be 'made for each other couple,' because of some personal differences, the couple divorced in 1973.
Later, she tied the knot to Robert Urich in 1975. Menzies and Robert have three children together namely Ryan Urich, Emily Urich, and Allion Grady Urich.
After her husband died from a rare form of cancer in 2002, Menzies founded the 'Robert Urich Foundation' which raised money for cancer research and support for patients.
She wrote on the foundation's website,
"After my husband lost his battle on April 16th, 2002, I vowed that I would make it my life’s mission to continue to fight for his dream and vision: a world where the word ‘cancer’ is simply a memory of war we have won."
Though Heather is not among us, she'll always remain in our heart.
