Actor Christian Slater and his wife Brittany Lopez have welcomed their first child, a daughter together. The 50-year-old actor's representative confirmed the news.

The news comes as a surprise as the new parents hadn't announced their pregnancy. Moreover, Brittany never made her public appearance for months.

The newborn is the first child for Brittany while Slater is also a father to two children; daughter Eliana Sophia, 18, and son Jaden Christopher, 20, whom he gave birth with his ex-wife Ryan Haddon. They were married from 2000 to 2006.

Slater, who is famous for her roles in Heathers, Interview with the Vampire, secretly married Brittany in December 2013. They got married at the courthouse in Coral Gables, Florida. The pair dated for around three years and were engaged for a year before they got married.

On New Year's Eve 2012, they celebrated their engagement in a star-studded bash that was attended by 200 people. At that time, the actor said, "It kind of already feels like we did the wedding."
