The news is that ABC is now preparing for welcoming a pair of very funny ladies. The two ladies of comedy fame, Allison Tolman, and Katy Mixon are coming with their new set of series. Coming this 2016–2017 schedule, the network on Thursday announced series orders for Downward Dog, starring Fargo‘s Allison Tolman, and an untitled comedy formerly known as The Second Fattest Housewife in Westport, starring Mike & Molly‘s Katy Mixon.
Tolman's Downward Dog, based on the web series of the same name, follows a struggling millennial named Nan played by Tolman, who has an interesting connection with her dog Martin. The story is said to be told from Martin’s point of view, the show teaches Nan and her dog to be there for each other. While the other ABC series, as for the untitled pick-up, Mixon will be seen as Katie, a confident, unapologetic, plump wife, and mother of three.
She would be raising her flawed family in the wealthy town of Westport filled with ‘perfect’ mothers and their ‘perfect’ offsprings. So the viewers are let in on their deepest, most unfiltered thoughts through voiceover as the she lives her life as the second fattest housewife in Westport.
Other cast members who will be joining her include Diedrich Bader, Johnny Sequoyah, Daniel DiMaggio, Julia Butters, Carly Hughes and Ali Wong. Despite she is playing a typical mum in the series, she has not been married yet. She had previously been dating Bobby Deen, and currently is said to be without a boyfriend. Well, that is very challenging already, she is a single woman and yet portraying a married mom of three kids. That would be interesting to see.
The shows are coming out anytime between 2016-2017, and the two ladies are going to keep the audiences laughing. Let's see which one of the shows goes ahead of winning the hearts.
