A Colorado Nurse Dies Following A Bungee Accident

by Joey Jordan,

A Colorado woman, 20, has died in a bungee accident on January 4, which the investigators say was not due to the device's failure.

Ciara Romero, 20, who had been attending nursing cla s s, died after 70-foot bungee-jump at Get Air at the Silo Trampoline Park, an indoor recreation park in Grand Junction.

The Get Air released a statement Monday where they expressed their sorrow on Romero's death.

We are fully cooperating with the Grand Junction Police Department, the Occupational Health and Safety Administration and Colorado State regulatory agencies in their investigations of the incident. We will have no further comment regarding this investigation or incident.

The Department of Labor and Employment officers investigated the devices with Head Rush, but they confirmed all the devices were working properly. The statement issued by Head Rush reads:

This inspection involved testing which subjected the device to various loading profiles across a range of weights, where the velocity and force were recorded in simulated descents.

Cher Haavind, a spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, confirmed that the tests show nothing false in the security system so they will focus on other factors in the case.

Haavind emphasized they will now focus on eyewitness' statements and will continue their investigation with a collaboration with the local police.
