A Girl, 9 Killed, And Two Others Seriously Injured After The Car They Were In Was Hit And Dragged By Another Car

  • A 9-year-old girl, Olivia Mendez, was killed in a car crash in Dallas on Friday evening, 24th May.
  • The car, Chevrolet Impala, they were in was hit by another car, a gray Dodge Charger which was apparently racing with the other two vehicles.
  • Mendez was pronounced dead at the hospital on arrival where two other passengers recover in the hospital.
  • None of the drivers involving in the crash sustained any serious injury-the driver of the Charger was taken into custody after he was released from the hospital.

A 9-year-old Dallas girl died and another child was seriously injured after the vehicle they were in was hit by a car and was drag racing on Friday evening, police reported.

Release that three cars;

Police said in the news release that three cars; identified as an orange Dodge Challenger, a gray Dodge Charger, and a blue Ford Mustang, had been racing on a Dallas street when the Challenger hit the Chevrolet Impala, where the children were riding in, in the back right passenger side.

The incident happened on Friday evening in the 10700 block of Lake June Road-police responded to the crash at around 7:30 p.m.

Was pronounced dead

The girl identified as Olivia Mendez, who was sitting in the back seat, was ejected from the car. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Officers also said a child, Mendez's sister, 3, and another person in the front seat were in critical condition, however, the driver is in good condition.

The driver of the Charger also sustained minor injuries and was taken into custody after he was released from the hospital. The other drivers fled the situation, however, police later took them into custody.
