Three people were killed, and eleven others left injured after a gunman opened fire at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Northern California Sunday evening, 28th July.

Scot Smithee, Gilroy police chief announced the shooter was also killed. However, investigators are searching for a possible second suspect. Sunday was the last day of the Gilroy garlic festival.

Meanwhile, Gilroy Police shared the shooting news on Twitter on Sunday evening.

Six people were taken to St. Louise Regional Hospital and another five were transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. A spokesperson for the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, Joy Alexiou said all of the victims suffered gunshot wounds.

Identity of the suspects and the victims are yet to be released. Smithee said the motive for the shooting remains unclear. He also said the suspect cut the fence to gain access to the festival. There were no surveillance cameras fitted at the festival.
