Lexie Alford told Fox News that she felt "relief" immediately after she landed in North Korea on 31st May; accomplishing her lifelong dream. She said,

I've been working through extreme anxiety for the past six-plus months overcoming the obstacles that go along with getting into some of the least accessible places in the world. It wasn't until the moment in that obscure conference room, of all places, that it really sunk in how far I've come.

She went on saying:

Not many times in life does everything that you've worked towards for years culminate into a single moment.

The Nevada City, California native Alford was just 12 when she started saving up to fund the goal of visiting all the nations. She said by her 18th birthday, she had traveled to 72 nations, and she realized that she could see the 124 remaining countries on her list in time to set an official record.

In 2016, Alford officially started to chase the world record full time. She told Fox News that she traveled alone for over seven months throughout the last two years in which she landed on more than 50 countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, and Central and South America.
