Two babies; a 2-year-old boy and his 1-year-old brother fell from the 55-foot tall building in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Thursday in which the former lost his life and the latter suffered severe injuries.

Local police told ABC News Abdiqani Abdi, and his younger brother Abdirizak were playing on their family's porch before the accident. A family friend, Grad Darhir told WCCO,

Very lovely kids, very happy, friendly. [They] always play with the father, mother, other kiddies.

Funeral of Abdiqani was carried out on Saturday while his younger brother recovers at a hospital who has suffered three broken ribs, a fractured skull, and a broken arm and jaw.

Police are investigating for the cause of their fall from the rooftop. John Elder, Minneapolis Police Officer, told ABC,

There's no indication at this time that these children's descent was caused by anything other than the children themselves.

Osman Ahmed, a spokesperson for the family, created a GoFundMe page to help the family with the funeral and medical costs. The page has raised over $8k so far.
