- Her wife, Monique announced that she pa s sed away surrounded by her friends and Monique on Tuesday.
- Monique further said McClellan was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in March which further spread to her colon, bladder, and her intestines.
Beverly McClellan, who was the finalist in the first season of The Voice in 2011, died of cancer on Tuesday afternoon, 30th November. She was 49.
McClellan's wife Monique announced on Wednesday that the singer died surrounded by her close friends. She further said that McClellan was diagnosed with endometrial cancer on March 30.
According to a GoFundMe page, the cancer had spread over her colon, bladder, and intestines. Monique wrote,
Beverly went home at 4:36 p.m. She was surrounded by so much love and we shared some beautiful last days. Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive of us.
She further wrote,
We appreciate all of the love you have given and the good vibes you have sent. Peace love and light to you and your loved ones.
Following her death was announced, The Voice posted a note about her writing "The only thing greater than Beverly McClellan's voice was her heart."
It further wrote,
Our thoughts are with her family, friends and fans during this difficult time.

Nakia, one of the semifinalists of season 1, took to her Twitter on Thursday, 31st October paying tribute to McClellan. "I am absolutely heartbroken. My dear friend & fellow S1 @NBCTheVoice alum, @beverlyshane has died," she wrote.
