'Deadliest Catch' Alum Blake Painter Is No More-Dies At 38

Deadliest Catch's Blake Painter was found dead at his home in Astoria, Oregon on May 25. He was aged 38.

Tom Bergin, the Clatsop County Sheriff, confirmed Painter's death to the Associated Press on Tuesday, 29th May-he stated he was discovered dead by his friend who visited him after being unable to reach the painter.

The police discovered Xanax, a prescription medication for anxiety disorders, and crystal meth which he previously said was for his personal use.

The cause of the reality star's death will only be released after toxicology test is completed, but multiple media outlets confirmed no evidence of foul play. TMZ reported it appears as if Painter died of some kind of drug overdose.

Painter rose to prominence after working on early seasons of the Discovery Channel series which follows the lives of a fisherman in the Alaskan waters of the Bering Sea. Later he earned greater attention for his role as the captain of the F/V Maverick on second and the third season of the hit Discovery Channel series Deadliest Catch.

In 2010, the series had lost its another fishing boat captain, Phil Harris and in 2015, fellow Deadliest Catch star, Tony Lara died at 50 of a heart attack.
