"I don't want to die!"

America's Next Top Model contestant Jael Strauss wrote the line on her social media post after she announced her diagnosis with an aggressive form of breast cancer.

The former reality star revealed she was diagnosed with the cancer at the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. "I was gonna write some long thing but some of you guys deserve to know," she wrote at the starting of her post. She further wrote:

On October 2nd I was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. It has aggressively spread throughout my body and is incurable. With treatment, it may prolong my life longer than the 'few months' doctors said I could make it.

She went on writing,

I don't want to die. I need another one of those miracles that I got back in 2013.

Here is the post:

Strauss' friends have set up a GoFundMe page to help her with alleviating some of the medical costs confirming the 34-year-old star has already started chemotherapy, however, the outcome is uncertain. They wrote,

What we do know is that Jael is putting all of her energy and drive into fighting this insidious disease and can use as much support and love as possible.

They further wrote,

Jael is in tremendous pain right now and is unable to work. In a month, she will be let go from her job and lose her health insurance.

According to People, the campaign has since raised over $7,200 in just three days.

In August, Strauss took to her Instagram marking the 5th year of sober. "Today I have 5 years sober. Good God!" she wrote. She also wrote,

I know a few things to be true: Miracles are real, Recovery is possible for everyone no matter how far gone you think you are.

Today I have 5 years sober. Good God! I know a few things to be true: Miracles are real, Recovery is possible for everyone no matter how far gone you think you are, We are never too broken to be put back together, Service work feels better than the greatest high, Sobriety makes you weirder not normal and I’d be dead if it weren’t for all the love and forgiveness I’ve been showered with by my friends and family. Thank you to anyone that’s ever let me sponsor them. Thank you to my partner Cody Bear for showing me what real love is like. Thank you to all my beautiful family (blood and extended). Because of this gift I have no friends, only family. Love you all! Keep up the good fight #Recovery #sobriety #12steps #drphil #antm

Before Strauss decided to go sober, she, then-28-year-old, appeared on The Dr. Phil Show where her battle with substance abuse led to a hometown intervention. And her journey of sobriety started since then.
