T.J. Holmes is an American journalist and a national television personality known for anchoring shows like “Saturday & Sunday Morning on CNN” and “Don’t Sleep on BET.” He has also appeared on MSNBC.

Early Life and Education

The talented journalist, T.J. Holmes was born on August 19, 1977, in Arkansas and is the younger of two children. He was given the nickname T.Jr by his family members. When he started his professional television career he began it using the name “T.J.”

Holmes attended West Memphis High School and then joined the University of Arkansas where he earned a degree in broadcast journalism.

Career

The reassuring journalist started his television career at KSNF Channel 16 in Missouri and drove to Joplin from the University of Arkansas campus to hand-deliver his resume and reel. He was not able to spend more of his time at the KSNF and spent less than a year at KSNF as a producer and a weekend anchor.

Then he moved back to his home state of Arkansas in order to join the CBS affiliate KTHV in Little Rock as a general assignment reporter and there he was promoted to a weekend anchor within a year. In the year 2003, he moved on to the KNTV at the NBC O & O station in the San Francisco Bay Area in order to be an anchor of the 5 p.m evening news.

Holmes also traveled to Athens, Greece to cover the 2004 Olympics, one of the first summer games held after the 11th attacks. He also covered several other stories that garnered national attention including the historic recall election of California, Gov. Gray Davis, that resulted in the double murder trial of Scott Peterson.

Then he joined CNN as the news anchor and correspondent and co-anchored CNN Saturday & Sunday Morning with Betty Nguyen until the Nguyen left for the CBS. He also covered the historic first papal visit to the United States including live from the ma s s at Yankee Stadium. He helped CNN’s 2010 coverage of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

The journalist also joined BET and signed a multi-platform deal with BET Networks.  She has also appeared on MSNBC on numerous occasions as a substitute anchor and also appeared on Weekends with Alex Witt and Newsnation with Tamron Hall.

Later, he appeared on ABC News and was made the permanent co-host of WNN.

Personal Life

The proficient journalist married Amy Ferson but the relationship didn’t last long and they got divorced in 2007. Then he again married Atlanta-area attorney, Marilee Fiebig on March 1, 2010, in Tennessee. They have their first daughter together in 2013. Apart from that daughter, he also has two other children from his first wife named Brianna and Jaiden. 

Currently, the family of five lives a luxurious life and the journalist often posts on his Instagram handle his personal life and family time. Till now, there is no sign of separation between Holmes and Fiebig.
