By this win he was elevated in 53rd position in the Official World Golf Rankings and also placed him at the 2011 Masters Tournament. Gary was also invited into the U.S. open after he was promoted to 50th position. Later Gary won Omega Mission Hills World Cup in November 2011 and with his win he was ranked 17th on the PGA Tour money list.
