Darla Deschamps was born on May 5, 1981, in Calgary in the Canada. She belongs to white ethnicity and holds a Canadian nationality.
Deschamps made her debut in North American Cup in December 2004. Soon after, she got accepted in the Canadian national squad.
In the year 2004, Deschamps entered in an American Cup Championship. Then after a couple of years in 2008, she went to Canadian Championships.
The next year in 2008, Deschamps participated in a Park City championship where she scored the second position. She also achieved multiple positions in Skelton America’s Cup 2007/08. Unfortunately at last on overall; she finished second.
Furthermore, Deschamps participated in Intercontinental Cup in 2009. Afterward, she entered in the World Cup and finished second. Earlier, Deschamps won the Open Lebanon Skeleton Championship in 2005.
Personal life
Darla Deschamps married to Canadian skeleton racer, business person, as well as a TV host, Jon Montgomery who won the gold medal in the men’s skeleton event at the Winter Olympics in 2010.
The couple got married on August 6, 2011, in a romantic wedding ceremony at the vineyard near Kelowna, B.C. Before getting married, they dated for almost five years.
Deschamps first met his husband in 2005 at the sliding track's start house atop Canada Olympic Park. Her husband Montgomery had an interview with Winnipeg Free Press in 2011 where he said,
“I was looking at the start list and I saw a person by the name of Deschamps on there. I looked around the room and she was the only girl I didn't know. There was a fella from back home who I grew up with named Deschamps. I introduced myself to her and told her 'my buddy's name was Deschamps and I called him Dish, so I'm going to call you Dish too.”
Till date, the pair doesn't have any children. They have been living a blissful married life.
