Moussa moved to Costa Mesa After Separation

After his separation, Moussa moved to his Costa Mesa home where he lived for more than three years until he met his now girlfriend Heather Rae Young. As of 2023, the pair is renting their beach house and has planned to live there until they find their dream house.

“This is our in-between house until we build or find the perfect house,” El Moussa said. “But I mean, this is a super killer house. It's nicer than the house we were living in — it's right by the water and kind of looks like a hotel.”

After over a decade of relationship, Tarek El Moussa and Christina started facing troubles in mid-2016. In May 2016, Christina called the police to their South Carolina home and Tarek fled their home taking his handgun, after a heated argument. And weeks after, the couple announced their separation.

In December 2016, Tarek filed for divorce from his wife, Christina El Moussa. Six months later, Christina also filed for divorce in January 2017. Even after their split, the former duo agreed to work in a show together and even attended a Red Carpet in May 2017

Tarek El Moussa was also allegedly dating his kids' nanny, Alyssa Logan. But, he denied the rumor in an interview. With the help of some mutual friends, he then met Selling Sunset star Heather Rae in Newport Beach, California in July 2019.

The Duo's Chemistry

They immediately started dating, as per the smitten couple-it was love at first sight. Their romance was confirmed when they were photographed kissing in Newport Beach, California on a yacht. Tarek also officially confirmed his relationship via Instagram.

"It’s official!!!! After more than 3 years on my own, I’m so PROUD to say that this beautiful, sweet and talented young lady is my girlfriend!

 “I’ll be honest and say I never thought I would meet someone special in my life after the last three years. Then…out of the blue @heatherraeyoung walked into my life,” he continued. “The first time I saw her smile she 'did that thing to my tummy' and I knew right away I needed to get to know her."

Moussa proposed during a romantic weekend celebrating

On July 26, 2020, Moussa proposed to Young during a romantic weekend celebrating their one-year anniversary. He wore a tuxedo and went on one knee carrying emerald-cut rock which is colorless and eight carats in size.

Later, the TV host said, "The diamond is perfect all the way around—just like Heather. I also picked this ring, because eight is a lucky number." The beautiful moment was aired on his show in October 2020.

 Christina later started dating Gary Anderson 

Meanwhile, Christina later started dating Gary Anderson for a few months before she started dating Nate Thompson.  She broke up with Thompson some months later and then she started dating Doug Spedding, however, this relationship didn't work for her as well.

In 2018, Christina started dating  English TV presenter Ant Anstead. The pair's relationship grew stronger every day and coming to the end of the year, Christina El Moussa surprised her fans by revealing her marriage to Anstead. 

Cancer Diagnosis And Battle

Tarek El Moussa is a two-time cancer survivor. In 2013, one of his viewers, a registered nurse, reported a lump on his neck. After a biopsy and ultrasound on June 12, it was found that the lump was cancerous and was to be removed immediately.

He was diagnosed with stage 2 thyroid cancer. He went through four hours of surgery to remove his entire thyroid. Later Tarek revealed that the cancer didn’t spread beyond his neck and was cured completely.

Diagnosed with testicular cancer

Later, in 2017, Tarek El Moussa revealed that he was also diagnosed with testicular cancer. He did not talk about it cause “Testicular cancer is more of a private thing,” for him. He, however, was quite open about his thyroid cancer and even documented it on his show.

“A lot of people said they got tested because I shared my [thyroid cancer] story,” he said at the time, explaining why he was opening up about his testicular cancer as well. “I thought this was the time to come forward because it could save some lives.”
