The Academy Award-winning actress/director, producer, and screenwriter Sally Field is one of the most celebrated Hollywood actresses. She started her acting career in 1962 from the film Moon Pilot. She later appeared in several films and TV series including Hooper, Black Roads, Murphy’s Romance, Beautiful and Forrest Gump. In 2012, she played Aunt May Parker in the Marvel’s Superhero film, The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Sally Field was born on November 6, 1946, in Pasadena, California. She was born to father Richard Dryden Field and mother Margaret Field. She is the youngest of two children of her parents. She grew up in show business with her parents.

Later, her parents divorced and her mother remarried to actor and stuntman Jock Mahoney. Field’s stepfather was a strict disciplinarian who expected faithful obedience from her.

She finished her high school education from the Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, California. She then attended an acting workshop at Columbia Studios, which helped launch her film and television career.

Her career continued to boom with leading roles in 1985’s Murphy’s Romance with James Garner. In 1988, she appeared in the film Punchline. In 1994, she played the role of Tom Hanks'mother in the hit film Forest Gump.

After spending three decades in film sets, she wrote and directed the holiday television movie, The Christmas Tree starring Julie Harris in 1996. After four years, she directed another film named Beautiful in 2000. In the year 2017, she was a cast in the comedy horror movie Little Evil alongside Evangeline Lilly, Adam Scott, and Bridget Everett.

Field then worked in various films, television, and stage show. In 2008, she lent her voice role in The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning. After four years, she played the role of Aunt May Parker in Marvel’s superhero film, The Amazing Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.

In 2014, she reprised her role in the sequel of The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2. In October 2017, she signed on to join in the Netflix dark comedy Maniac- an adapted series from the Norwegian series of the same name.

After separating him, she started dating Alan Greisman and got married to him in 1984. She welcomed a son together with him in 1987 and divorced from him after living together for one decade.

She currently lives in Los Angeles with her three children. A field has said that she has taken doctor's advice to be fit and healthy for a long time and occasionally she has suffered from depression and anxiety attacks. 

She is recently working on the upcoming movie The Amazing Spider-Man 2. She had won an award from the Brothers & Sisters for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.

Health Issue

In the years 2005 Sally Field was diagnosed with Osteoporosis (a disease which leads to bone weakness). Later on, she raised the voice for awareness of the disease and also a spokesperson for Boniva(medicine).
