Rock and roll guitarist and songwriter, Charlotte Irene Caffey is known best for her work in the Go-Go’s. She has also written the hit song We Got the beat. She was born on October 21, 1953 in California. She started her career with a rock band, and then later led her own band. She is the third of thirteen children of well-known television director of the 1960’s Michael Caffey and her mother is Ann Caffey.
Charlotte grew up in Glendale, California and got enrolled in the Immaculate Heart College to gain her initial education. She was a ba s s guitarist initially as she started her career as a ba s s guitarist in the punk band The Eyes. She joined the band Go Go’s in 1978 and switched to guitar there. After the break- up of this band, Charlotte went on to open and lead her own band named The Graces on 1988. The band too lasted until 1992. It consisted of members Gia Ciambotti and Meredith Brooks. They released their album Perfect View on 1989 before breaking up.
Caffey is also a songwriter and as written the theme song of the series Clueless as well as the country hit But for the Grace of God. She is also the writer of the book, lyrics and music of Lovelace: A Rock Musical which debuted at the Hayworth Theatre situated in Los Angeles. She also played the piano on the version of the album of the Foolish Games, by Jewel. She retired for a short period of time in the 1980’s due to her health problems as she had a crippling form of the carpal tunnel syndrome. She later made a return after recovery. She is a well-known rock band member and a songwriter whose immaculate skills in the musical arena have led her to instant fame and stardom.
As far as her personal life is concerned, she is a married woman. Her spouse is the guitarist and singer of the band Redd Kross. His name is Jeff McDonald. Being in the same business they met and fell in love. This love gradually grew and translated into marriage. After their wedding, their only child, a daughter named Astrid was born on 1995. Jeff and Caffey are seen on the show Ze Malibu Kids with as well. The couple seems to be doing pretty well until now. There have been no news regarding any kind of marital problems between this couple and they will certainly be together and will not be moving towards divorce. They do not seem to be planning on having any more children. None of them have been rumored to be having an affair with anybody else.
