Rana Foroohar was born on 1970. She graduated from Barnard College, Columbia University in 1992 with a B.A in English Literature. Rana is currently living in Brooklyn, New York. Rana Foroohar married John Sedgwick in 2013. Her husband John Sedgwick is a professional writer and has published eleven books: three works of literary nonfiction, two novels, a family memoir, five collaborative books, and, his co-biography.
