Inside Biography

Park Hyung-Sik is a South Korean singer and actor. He is an active member of the famous South Korean boy band, ZE: A. He is widely recognized for his breakthrough performances in High Society and Strong Do Bong-soon. Park debuted his career in 2009, as the male lead in the music video named Date. He has grabbed many awards including The Seoul Awards in 2017. 

Early Life And Education Of Park Hyung-Sik 

Park Hyung-Sik, well known as Hyungsik, was born in Yongin, South Korea on 16th November 1992. He belongs to South Korean nationality and ethnicity wise, he is an East-Asian. 

Park grew up in a highly religious family along with his brother. As his mother and grandmother were Buddhists, he was also named Hyung-Sik by a Buddhist monk.

Park Hyung Sik's father worked as a member of the board director of BMW Korea, who is also a keen follower of the Korean martial art Gumdo. Park started practicing Gumdo along with his brother, while he was in the sixth standard and later earned a certificate in fighting art.  

Park had some other deeper interests in music. He was enthusiastically devoted to music and singing, since his teenage. He graduated from Shanghai High School.

As a junior high school student, Park Hyung-Sik was quite popular as a lead vocalist in the school band, and his boy band performed in numerous concerts throughout the country at the time.

Park was expected to follow in his father’s footsteps to become one of the successful businessmen and there was no response from his household about his probable career in music.

Therefore, Park Hyung-Sik went on to study business administration at Digital Seoul Culture Arts University. He, however, didn’t give up his childhood aim and kept following with his voice and musical instruments.

Park Hyung-Sik made his professional debut in Jewelry S’s ‘Date’ music video as the male lead, in February 2009. 

The South-Korean Boy Band ZE: A

Park became the permanent member of South Korean boy band ZE: A, on January 7, 2010. The group first performed in the reality show Debut Diary, where he featured with the band’s members.

The same year, the band released its first album titled ‘Nativity’ and the single from the album titled ‘Mazeltov.’ The album reached #1 in several Korean charts. ZE: A embarked on many guerrilla shows all over the nation, creating hype regarding them successfully.

The band embarked on an Asian tour in July 2010, after releasing another successful album ‘Leap for Detonation.’ It came out with their next album in Japanese in December the same year, releasing ‘Love Letter/My Only Wish’. The album debuted #2 on the Oricon music chart.

In March 2013, Park Hyung-Sik created a supporting group for their band named ZE: A Five along with his fellow ZE: Members Siwan, Kevin, Minwoo, and Dongjun.

Film And TV Appearance

In addition, Park Hyung-Sik appeared in a variety of shows and in several dramas as well. He started his theatrical career in 2011, as a cast member in the musical Temptation of Wolves, alongside Super Junior’s Ryeowook.

The following year, Park made his acting debut featuring in SBS’s special drama, Remember You. The same year, he went on to play a vocalist of an indie band in the series Dummy Mommy.

Park Hyung-Sik rose to further prominence with the character of Do Shin-woo in KBS2’s drama special Sirius, in 2013. He gained widespread acclaim for his breakthrough performance in the drama.

Park later appeared as the younger version of Lee Jin-Wook's role in tvN's time-slip drama Nine: Nine Time Travels.

Park gained further praises for his major character in the military drama show Real Men in 2013. The year became one of the successful years of his acting career.

Park played the role of an innocent and cute-looking man, earning him the nickname ‘Baby Soldier’ in the drama show Real Men, in 2013. He also won one MBC Entertainment award for his role.

Park Hyung-Sik appeared in two South Korean TV series including The Heirs in 2013 and What's With This Family in 2014. He received critical and commercial acclaim for his portrayal as well as begged for 3 KBS awards.

Park appeared in another drama ‘High Society’ in mid-2015. In the drama, he portrayed a chaebol who falls in love with one of the part-timers working in the store. He was honored with two prestigious awards for his role in the drama and drew favorable reviews as well.

Park began appearing as a young and distrustful king, Sammaekjong in a ma s sive budget period drama ‘Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth’ in early 2016. He made his first leading character in the romantic comedy-drama series ‘Strong Women Do Bong soon’, where he appeared as CEO of a game company, Ainsoft.

Besides, Park Hyung-Sik also played the role of Branch in a 2016 film Trolls, alongside Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, James Corden, Gwen Stefani, and Zooey Deschanel, among others. He made a public announcement about his agreement with United Artists Agency as an actor in April 2017.

Park will appear in the Korean remake of the American legal drama series Suits, in 2018.

Park Hyung-Sik's net worth is close to million, as per some online sources. Appearing on various television series, on average, he pays a salary of $43k per year. 

During his trainee days along with ZE: A’s members that Park had more than $10 thousand in his bank account. As a board member of BMW Korea, Park Hyung-Sik's father’s salary is estimated to be around $120,000.

One of his successful movies Trolls made $153.7 million in the US and Canada. The movie was a big hit grossing $193.2 million in other countries, making the total box office collection $346.8 million. The movie was made under a budget of $125 million. The actor has a million followers on his Instagram account which is also a major part of his income source.

Park Hyung-Sik's Personal Life And Relationship

Park Hyung-Sik is unmarried and has not confirmed having any relationship to date. Park Hyung-Sik expressed his endless affection for his former co-star, Park Bo Young. He stated,

“I really loved Park Bo Young. She’s that lovable. She really was Do Bong Soon and, because Park Bo Young truly was Do Bong Soon, I loved her. I wanted to love her more but [the drama] unfortunately ended.” 

The two actors’ chemistry in the drama lit up the screen, as they perfectly impersonated the romantic scenes, including kiss scenes, like a real-life couple. Their performance caused many to wonder if the two were really dating. The two first grabbed attention after their incredible chemistry while filming the drama in 2017.

The actor is also quite popular on social media, like Instagram with more than 4.5 million followers as of 2019. She is also active on the micro-blogging site Twitter with thousands of followers. He also posted several pictures with his friends on Instagram.
