Oliver Phelps is an English actor, born on 25 February 1986 in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, England, UK. He has a twin brother who is 13 minutes younger than him.
Oliver Phelps, along with his brother, attended Little Sutton Primary School and later joined Arthur Terry Secondary School. During the making of the film 'Harry Potter', Oliver and James were tutored on the set along with other students. At the age of 14, the twin with no prior experience in acting bunked school exams and went to audition for an open cast. They auditioned for six times and finally Oliver and James earned the roles of Fred and George Weasley in 'Harry Potter' and the 'Philosopher’s Stone' in 2000. Later, they landed a recurring cast in all the series.
Oliver Phelps and James made an appearance as brothers in the third season’s episode of TV series 'Kingdom' in 2009. In 2012, Oliver and James starred in a short doc u mentary, adaptation of Plato’s philosophical ideas 'A Mind’s Eye'.The brothers are close to other film cast members, including Tom Felton, Daniel Radcliffe,Rupert Grint, Matthew and involved in various Harry Potter Exhibitions.
In January 2014, the brothers along with Evanna Lynch, Devon Murray, and Matthew Lewis went to Orlando during the Harry Potter Celebration, where they were questioned by fans in the LiveCast and discussed the expansion of Harry Potter in which fans can take part in Diagon Alley, summer 2014.
Besides, their acting career both of them love playing golf and Oliver's handicap is 20 while James' is 18. They are huge fans of football clubs of Birmingham but support different clubs. Oliver is a fan of Aston Villa while James is a fan of Birmingham City. The brothers also enjoy traveling and they have attended various games and events around the world.
Oliver Phelps is a patron of charity works and planted trees at the National Forest in Leicestershire in January 2003. The twins are the supporters of Teenage Cancer Trust and even have opened a special charity unit at Birmingham and contributed. They also support sports and music events. Every year in August the twin attend V Festival in Virgin Media and also a rock music festival at Download Festival.
In May 2006, Oliver Phelps and James took part in Celebrity World Cup Soccer Six along with various celebrity sports fans. The twins are cornerstones of Virgin Money Giving drive and a part of RNLI, raising money for lifeguards. They participated in Skydiving for Cancer Research UK in Australia on November 22, 2011. On 7th September 2013, they raised 2,500 euros in memory of late Harry Moseley, by taking part on Pointless Celebrities.
Apart from Harry Potter movies, Oliver's television credits include Ward 3 (2012), The Turn (2012), Own Worst Enemy (2012), Hogwarts Express (2014), Kings of the Nerds (2015) and Danny and the Human Zoo (2015).
Oliver and James had a reprising role in video games of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows- Part 1. Oliver is married and his wife is Katy Humpage. The couple married in 2015 in Tutbury, United Kingdom. Oliver has got a height of 6'3'' and weight of 80 kilograms
