Early Life and Education
Young was born as Nicholas Aaron Young on June 1, 1985, in Los Angeles, California, U.S. He is the son of Mae Young (his mother) and Charles Young Sr. (his father). As concerned to his nationality, he is an American belonging to the Afro-American ethnicity. Young has two brothers namely Charles Young Jr. and John Young.
Young grew up in Los Angeles, California and spent most of his childhood days there. He attended Cleveland High School in suburban of Reseda, California. As a senior at Cleveland, he scored 27.2 points and 10.8 rebounds earning 2004 CIF L.A. City Section, Los Angeles Times All-City and San Fernando Valley first team honors.
Young then moved to the University of Southern California in 2004. He played for the University for over three years and was All-Pac-10 First Team in the 2005–06 and 2006–07 seasons. He led USC to a 77-6 win in the first round against Arkansas and led the team with 22 points over the Texas Longhorns in the 2nd round.
Professional Career
Young started his professional career in 2007. He was selected 16th overall in the 2007 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards. He began his first game of NBA career on December 15, 2007. The match was against the Sacramento Kings.
Young was fined $10,000 by the Washington Wizards for participating in Gilbert Arenas's antics before a game on January 5, 2010, against the Philadelphia 76ers. He scored a career-high 43 points against the Sacramento Kings on January 11, 2011.
Later, Young was traded to several teams such as Los Angeles Clippers (2012), Philadelphia 76ers (2012-2013), Los Angeles Lakers (2013-2017). He is currently playing with Golden State Warriors. He signed the contract with the team on July 7, 2017.
