Christina Hager is an award-winning reporter who works as a general a s signment reporter for WBZ-TV News. Prior to WBZ-TV, she was working at WTNH-TV, the ABC affiliate in New Haven, Connecticut. Similarly, she was also honored with a New England for her outstanding work in breaking news, in addition to receiving four Emmy nominations in 1997.
Early Life and Career
Christina Hager was born in Bethesda, Maryland and was raised in a ‘news family’; her father is the NBC network correspondent Robert Hager. She went to Colby College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Government. She started her career working as a News Director for WMHB Colby Radio. Along with working at WMHB, she was also studying and she earned her master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.

Christina Hager officially started her career as a general a s signment reporter at WGBC-TV in Meridian, Mississippi and after two years relocated to WLBZ-TV in Bangor, Maine as an anchor and reporter. Similarly, she was also a general a s signment reporter in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, Michigan, where, she was able to win the Michigan Emmy Award for Best Doc u mentary in 1996. Currently, she is working as a general a s signment reporter for WBZ-TV News. She joined the station in June 1999.

Christina Hager has spent more than two decades of her life covering breaking news across the country. She has contributed to extensive coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings; the ma s s shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary; the death of John F. Kennedy; and the September 11th terrorist attacks. Similarly, in 2002, Hager traveled to Washington DC to cover the weeks-long search and apprehensive of the Beltway sniper.
During her career at WBZ, Christina Hager has covered severe weather events across the country, from hurricanes in Texas and Florida to floods to tornados, and snowstorms throughout New England.
