Synopsis

Garrett Borns, notable for his stage name Borns, is an American musician and singer. He released his debut studio album, Dopamine, on 16 October 2015 and similarly, released his EP, ‘A Dream Between’ in 2012.

Early Life and Career

Borns was born on 7 January 1992 in Grand Haven, Michigan. While growing up in Michigan, he immersed himself in arts.  Borns’ father worked in graphic design and he also has a sister. When he was at the age of 10, Borns was a professional magician notable by the name ‘Garrett the Great’. At the time he was 13 while studying at White Pines Middle School, Borns received a Gold Key Award in the National Scholastic Art Award along with the scholarship to the Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids.

In the early phase of his career, Borns performed under the name Garrett Borns and also took part in a TEDx event, where he performed a variety of music on his ukulele. Similarly, in 2013 Borns moved to Los Angeles and wrote his first single ’10,000 Emerald Pools’ with Jack Kennedy.

Music Career

Borns released his debut single, ’10,000 Emerald Pools’ on 10 November 2014, on Interscope Records, along with the releases of his debut EP, Candy. Likewise, Borns has also made several television appearances and performed ’10,000 Emerald Pools’ on many talk shows, including Conan and Le Before du Grand Journal in France on 6 March 2015.

Similarly, he also began to perform live and also played support to MisterWives’ ‘Our Own House Tour’. Borns played a headlining show at the Electrowerkz in London and in July and August 2015, he accompanied Bleachers and Charli XCX on their ‘Charli and Jack Do America Tour’. Likewise, Borns also appeared in 'Life is the Beautiful festival' and the 'Austin City Limits Music Festival' in October 2015.

Borns’ debut studio album ‘Dopamine’ is about has been confirmed to release on 16 October 2016. He has also performed at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York City which was filmed by the American Public Broadcasting service for its Front and Center concert series airing nationwide in February 2016. In 2016, Borns performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

He has always maintained privacy when it comes to sharing his personal life with the media. Currently, he is very busy and focused on his career which perhaps may be the reason behind him being single and not having any girlfriend.
