Inside Biography

Andre Morgan Rami Ayew known as Andre Ayew is a professional Ghanaian footballer. He was born on 17 December 1989 in France. He is both forward and midfielder. As his parents, Abedi Pele is his father who is the winner of the African Footballer of the year award and the FIFA 100 member. He has three siblings. Two of them are brothers named Ibrahim and Jordan both of them are also footballer. His current teams are French Ligue 1 club Marseille and the national football team of Ghana. He has a cute baby with his lovely girlfriend. He is a muslim by religion.

Playing for Nania he started his career in his own nation. After that when he got 14 he made his debut. His height is 1.76 m and weight 72 kg.With his father’s former club, Marseille he signed in 2005 and made in debut in 2007-08 season. Finishing the season with 13 total appearances he drew attention of Arsenal. It is said that Arsenal offered him salary of £5 million. But he denied the offer.

He was loaned to first division club for the season of 2008-09. Finishing the season with 22 league appearances he returned to Marseille on 30 June 2009. He joined newly promoted Ligue 2 club AC Arles Avignon on loan for the entire season of 2009-10 with shirt number 10 and inserted to his favorable right wing position. Appearing in 26 total matches and scoring four goals he finished his campaign with the club. On 16 May 2010 he returned to the Marseille and played for them from 2010-11. After that on 5 August, he signed a three-year contract with Marseille. He is with Marseille until June 2014. He was voted as Best Player for the season of the Club in 2010-11.

International career

His first option was always Ghana but due to some reasons he had to chose France. But on 7 August 2007, for the first time he was called up by Ghana Coach for the team’s friendly match against Senegal which was on 21 August. He made his international debut in the match as a late-match substitute. Ayew was named to the Ghana squad to play in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations on 11 January 2008. He represented Ghana both at 2009 African Youth Championship and 2009 FIFA U-20 World cup. Similarly he scored two goals against Cameroon at the African Youth Championship in the group stage. His victory resulted in the team qualifying for U-20 World Cup. By appearing at Africa Cup of Nations 2010 he made his second major international tournament.  He scored his first international goal in the team’s final group stage match against Burkina Faso on 19 January 2010. Unfortunately they were defeated by Egypt on the finals.

On his 22nd Birthday he was named BBC African Footballer of the Year on 16th December 2011. Similarly he was also named as the Ghanaian Footballer of the year.
